What do we have, or what is it about the way that we work, that make this proposal more likely to succeed than others?
Think about the time constraints you might be facing – a strength is only a strength if you can leverage it in the time you have available
Where does this proposal fall down on its own merits?
Does this proposal rely on partners or third parties to succeed? Are there other factors that make it ‘fragile’ in some way?
What is it about our operating environment or our competitor set that make this proposal particularly advantageous?
Are there things outside of our own organization that might cause this solution or strategy to fail?

How have we put this value into practice?
Is this value still relevant? Does it help us achieve our mission?

Think about what someone coming to the project for the first time might need to know
Use this space to set the context for the rest of the conversation
What might affect how you deliver this project?
Use this section to note anything that you think is probably true, but might need some testing or clarification
Think about the way your organization works, the needs of stakeholders and any other partners, and the time and budget you have available
What might cause this project to fail?
Honesty is the best policy here
Try to avoid vanity metrics here
If it’s helpful, try to identify both lead and lag measures of success
Quantitative metrics are best, but qualitative measures work fine here too, especially for more experimental projects
Add project goal here once you’ve completed the rest of the exercise
Be realistic, but ambitious – this is your chance to set the project off to a good start
Be honest about why the project matters – it’ll help get everyone on board
